Kristen
Burris is a recognized practitioner in the field of women’s
health. Her practice focuses on fertility enhancement, menstrual irregularities
and menopausal syndrome. She works with the leading fertility specialists
in San Diego and has helped hundreds with her style of Chinese medicine.
Ms. Burris is also a professional member of
American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Kristen completed
the 4 year graduate program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine
in San Diego where she received her Master’s of Science in
Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has treated patients at San Diego
Hospice and the UCSD Free Clinic Project and numerous fertility
centers. She was also an acupuncturist for the UCSD Dental Acupuncture
Study where her acupuncture techniques were used on dental patients
to reduce pain.
Kristen continually reaches out to the public
for greater awareness of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. She
has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, USD Nursing School, UCSD, San
Diego Hospice, Pomerado Hospital, Sharp Hospital and has been a
guest supervisor and assistant teacher for Pacific College of Oriental
Medicine.
Kristen has been featured in a long list of publications including the San Diego Union Tribune, Poway News-Chieftain, Today's Local News, Parenting magazine, Better Nutrition magazine and Achieving Families magazine. Her radio/TV appearances include NPR, KPOP radio and as a featured guest on Inside San Diego, a KUSI-TV news program. Ms. Burris combines her skills in natural medicine
with her compassionate approach to promote health in her patients.
She often receives referrals from and makes referrals to medical
doctors. Kristen is sought after by the most prestigious fertility
centers to assist in enhancing the number of pregnancies with assisted
reproductive technology (commonly called ART.) By adding acupuncture
to traditional IVF, Pregnancy rates can go up by 61 % (Fertility
and Sterility Vol. 77. No. 4 April 2002).
Kristen and Tony host retreats,
Finding Your Fertile Core, to enhance
fertility and increase successful pregnancy rates. Kristen is currently
writing a book about the journey of fertility.
Patients of Kristen include medical doctors (including
two state award-winners), psychologists, chiropractors and nurses
as well as a Women’s Baseball Hall of Famer.
